Professor Khan, a Professor of Design Engineering and Computing at BU, was selected by GO Science for his expertise in thermal energy storage technology.
His work聽develops novel nano聽enhanced thermofluid and nano聽coatings to enhance surface effectiveness聽and聽increase the energy efficiency within renewable energy systems at lower costs. This nanotechnological research has applications within industrial and domestic space heating and for generating electricity.
In addition, these nano coatings are developed from readily available materials to enhance sustainability and scale up production, alongside聽his aim of integrating the technology within standard building practices. This contrasts with the material used in current Solar Photovoltaic panels which are drawn from a limited resource.
